Default using headset and speakers sametime

Is it possible for me to hear guild wars out of my computer speakers and use my headset for teamspeak only at the same time?

Yes, green wire from speakers into Soundcard, pink wire from mic into soundcard. Headset on. You will hear sounds through the speakers and the mic will work as normal.

if you want your headset to have only teamspeak but no guild wars sounds...
and your speakers to have only guild wars but no teamspeak sounds...

I do not think that would be possible. If you have two sound cards, then it might be possible. I'm thinking that you can set teamspeak's default output device to the first card and GW's to the second card, hook up the headset to the first and speakers to the second.

Another option is to use the headset only and turn down the volume in GW so you can hear voices in teamspeak.

Since you cant split the audio output signal Eg music out one port, voice out another the answer i believe is no. Even with dual sound devices your pc is still only outputting a single sound stream. I cant think of a way to do it even with 5.1 or higher since you are working with a logic system and not just a mixed input of sounds to be seperated.

So my answer would be no.

My last headset was a mikomi usb digital from argos stores, that came with its own built in soundcard.

It certainly wouldn't use the soundblaster card in my pc, something I found annoying, but it might be what your looking for.

Um, no. Windows has supported multiple audio outputs since Windows XP at least.

Most VoIP apps let you choose the sound device to use, while Guild Wars doesn't, so set the device you want to handle the game's audio as your primary sound device in the Control Panel, then configure the VoIP app to use the other one.

I do this with Ventrilo, but I've never worked out how to do it on Teamspeak and this is part of the reason I don't use it. I'll be watching this with interest to see if anyone has a more detailed response as to the how.

Default GW Sound on speakers, TeamSpeak on headset

I did it by accident. Used a usb headset, set input/output device in TS server to the usb in/out and have TS on headset, game audio on speakers through my sound card.

Mine too. Always needed to shutdown GW and restart.

But thanks to other comments in this thread I'm going to be trying to split the audio up and see how it goes. Forums are a great place for info !
